Praying the Psalms
We are pleased to be able to offer this FULLER Equip mini-course as an additional resource and training material to complement the certificate programs in the Digital Training Library, which have been designed to enable the learner to grow in their skills and competencies as a translator of the Bible.
The Psalms is a notoriously difficult book of the Bible to translate, given its poetry and expression of the full range of human emotions, ranging from the deepest sorrow and anger to the highest forms of reverence and joy. This mini-course, Praying the Psalms by author and Associate Professor of Theology & Culture David Taylor, has the potential to guide a translator of the Bible into a deeper intimacy with God, to challenge the translator to “get real” about life in its infinite variety, and to encourage the translator to bring the Psalms’ naked honesty into the translation process so that God’s healing and wholeness may break into their language and spiritual community.
