Course Description

The PCAFI Advanced Leadership Certificate Program is a six-course program designed for current ministry leaders to receive the essential knowledge and tools they need to be effective in their calling as a PCAFI minister. These courses will help you deepen your understanding of your role and work as a PCAFI minister through self exploration, connection with your community, and your relationship with Jesus Christ. This will culminate in a final project that has direct relevance to your daily work.

Throughout the program, you will be equipped with knowledge and skills in PCAFI policies, procedures, and history; holistic discipleship and preaching of the Scriptures; and leading the people entrusted to your care. You will become familiar with the PCAFI values and the roles and expectations placed on you as a minister. You will journey through the history of Black Pentecostalism and the global church from its beginning till now, honoring the experiences of those who have gone before you. You can expect to tackle issues in interpreting the Bible and leading in a way that responds to your local community. You will gain wisdom in ministering in a biblical way, representing the love and justice of Jesus Christ. Lastly, you will learn how to engage with your community, putting your faith in practice with those around you.

When you successfully complete the final project after finishing the six courses, you will earn a professional certificate from FULLER Equip.

Meet Your Instructors

Dwight A. Radcliff Jr.

Dwight A. Radcliff Jr. joined the faculty of Fuller as an assistant professor of mission, theology, and culture, and is the academic dean for the William E. Pannell Center. Before coming to Fuller, Dr. Radcliff taught at Vanguard University, Azusa Pacific University, and the Southern California School of Ministry.

Radcliff lectures in seminaries, universities, and conferences on topics ranging from urban church planting, culture, theology, preaching, social justice, millennials, and evangelism.

Radcliff has nearly 30 years of experience in pastoral ministry. He has served in national and jurisdictional positions within the Church Of God In Christ. Radcliff is the founder and senior pastor of The Message Center in Southern California, where he leads with his wife, DeShun Jones-Radcliff, who serves as the church’s director of administration. He and his wife have two daughters.

Rev. Dr. Lori Banfield

Rev. Dr. Lori (Lo) Banfield is a native of Philadelphia, PA, with interdisciplinary expertise in psychology and practical theology. Her lineage is steeped with trailblazing atmosphere changers, spiritual and physical chain breakers, and truth tellers like her great-grandmother, Bishop Lena Thomas. With a love for studying and enhancing the sacred human experience, Dr. Banfield has dedicated her life, research, and service to fostering spiritual resilience and liberation paths in marginalized communities, especially those returning home from incarceration.

Over the years, she has honed her skills as an instructional designer, curriculum, and program developer consistently lauded for her transformative classroom practices and a pedagogy rooted in capacity scaffolding and sacred space setting. An Associate Elder at Word Formed Church, she also serves as Lecturer of Psychology at Eastern University, Assistant Director of Instructional Design for Palmer Theological Seminary and College, and Mamher of Practical Theology at Meachum School of Haymanot. Dr. Lo remains dedicated to local service as an executive director at Redemption Housing – Reentry Services. A wife and mother of two children, Dr. Lo endeavors to build atmosphere changers and restore sacred space within and beyond church, school, and prison walls.

Quonekuia A. Day

Professor Quonekuia A. Day is a full-time instructor of Old Testament & Biblical Hebrew at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and an adjunct instructor at Meachum School of Haymanot. Professor Day has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Emmanuel College, a Master of Social Work from Boston University, a Master of Divinity, and a Master of Theology from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Her expected completion date of her PhD in Old Testament from North West University in Potchefstroom, South Africa, is in the fall of 2023.

As an instructor at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, she has taught courses in Old Testament (OT) Survey, Genesis, Exodus, Interpreting the OT/NT, and Hebrew language. In addition, Professor Day is a public speaker specializing in Old Testament and Sexuality. She has conducted numerous seminars and workshops on the Old Testament, sexuality, mental wellness, conflict resolution, and leadership development.

She has participated in two documentaries, “Unspokenmovie.com,” streamed over 200,000 times, and the AND Campaign “How I Got Over” docuseries on YouTube. Professor Day is an ordained minister with the Church of God in Cleveland, Tennessee. She has over 30 years of ministry experience as a teacher, counselor, preacher, and outreach/formation minister. Professor Day serves as the director of Ministerial Care and Development at Deliverance Temple Worship Center, Dorchester, MA.

Vince Bantu

Dr. Bantu joined the Fuller faculty as assistant professor of church history and Black church studies in 2019. Dr. Bantu teaches primarily on Fuller’s Houston campus, where he also serves as a liaison to the William E. Pannell Center for Black Church Studies and networks with Black churches, pastors, and students. Prior to coming to Fuller, Bantu taught in various capacities at a number of colleges and institutions, including Nyack College, New York Theological Seminary, North Park Theological Seminary, the Center for Early African Christianity, Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, and Covenant Theological Seminary.

Additionally, he has years of pastoral experience in African American, Asian American, and Hispanic churches, as well as extensive involvement in multicultural urban communities. Bantu earned his Ph.D. in Semitic and Egyptian languages from The Catholic University of America, and his dissertation married his interests in African Christianity and social identity. He also directs the Meachum School of Haymanot, which provides theological education for urban pastors and leaders. He is the author of Gospel Haymanot: A Constructive Theology and Critical Reflection on African and Diasporic Christianity (2020) and A Multitude of All Peoples: Engaging Ancient Christianity’s Global Identity (2020), as well as numerous articles on global Christianity, Syriac and Nubian Christianity, apologetics, justice, evangelism, and African American theology.
