This material from the DOING JUSTICE series will set the groundwork for a conversation about urban renewal among conversation partners in your church or community. You will reflect on what you’re bringing to this topic from your own personal experience and learn some key facts and statistics in reference to some of the issues brought about by urban renewal. Several different Christian responses will be explored, which may include language, ideas, and images that trigger strong emotions or are even offensive. This may be a difficult journey, but by learning to understand why people hold certain positions, we will grow in wisdom and insight toward God’s will regarding the complex issue of urban renewal.
