Justice & Mission Work
This material from the curriculum series DOING JUSTICE will explore the topic of mass incarceration. The goal is to discern God’s call to us and to the church in our response to the issue of mass incarceration in America by deepening our understanding of the statistics of those in the system and the current issues with the system itself. Several different Christian responses will be explored, which may include language, ideas, and images that trigger strong emotions or are even offensive. This may be a difficult journey, but by learning to understand why people hold certain positions, we will grow in wisdom and insight toward God’s will regarding the complex issue of mass incarceration.
