Course Description
This material from the DOING JUSTICE series will set the groundwork for a conversation about violence against women. You will reflect on what you’re bringing to this topic from your own personal experience and learn some key facts and statistics about violence against women around the world. This material provides a global context of violence against women in reference to the four main views that churches have historically and currently held. As the different responses are explored, there may be language, ideas, and images that trigger strong emotions or are even offensive. This may be a difficult journey, but by learning to understand why people hold certain positions, we will grow in wisdom and insight toward God’s will regarding the complex issue of violence against women.
Content contributors include Laura Rector, Joy Johnson, Debbie Salinger, Michael Stafford, Hak Joon Lee, Tim Dearborn, and Jennifer Ackerman.
